Red Deer MLAs finally comment on the record

The Red Deer Advocate published a story today where both Red Deer MLAs spoke about the emergency room and long-term care situations. What they say isn't terribly surprising, but it does offer a small ray of hope.

Minister of Seniors and Community Supports Mary Anne Jablonski said due to the physical condition of Red Deer Nursing Home, she doesn’t think there’s a chance it would be used for health care.

“Valley Park Manor is still open for review,” said Jablonski, MLA for Red Deer North.<.br>
Red Deer South MLA Cal Dallas said he’s optimistic changes, like better co-ordination of home care support for seniors, will have an impact in emergency, as well as the province’s commitment to providing predictable funding increases for planning over a longer period of time.
